Currently more than 100 people are employed by AstraZeneca in Ireland with a wide range of expertise in different areas including sales, marketing, medical, regulatory affairs, market access, corporate affairs, patient safety, medical information, IT, digital, finance and administration. 

In 2021 AstraZeneca invested $360 million3 to establish a next-generation active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing facility for small molecules in Dublin. We expect this investment programme to significantly reduce commercialisation lead times and costs, and introduce more sustainable manufacturing processes, contributing to our Ambition Zero Carbon programme.

Worldwide, AstraZeneca invested over $10.9 billion4 in 2023 on research and development highlighting our dedication to finding new medicines that make a real difference to patients’ lives.
